Air Conditioning was Invented by Willis Carrier
Air Conditioning is a system where the humidity and temperature in a room or a building are controlled. This system is used to maintain a cool atmosphere in warm conditions. William Haviland Carrier first developed this system for a Brooklyn based printing plant where fluctuations in heat and humidity caused the dimensions of printing paper to alter slightly. This was enough to cause a misalignment in colored inks. The new air conditioning machines maintained a stable environment and aligned the four color printing.
He got this genius idea while waiting for a train!
